Polotsk delegation visit Gotland in frame of “Panorama Dvina\Daugava” project

23-26th November 2008 Polotsk delegation headed by the Mayor of the town Vladimir Tochilo paid a study visit to the island of Gotland by invitation of Gotland County Administration and the Governor of the island Marianne Samuelsson. This visit was a part of tripartite cooperation project in field of culture, history and tourism development of Sweden, Latvia and Belarus “Panorama Dvina\Daugava”.
The visit aimed at strengthening cooperation between Polotsk City Executive Committee and Gotland Administration.
In the course of the meeting the representatives of Gotland Administration highlighted the mission and current issues supporting the regional development. Polotsk high rank officials were presented the domestic and international tourism development strategy of the island, visited Visby tourist information center and a number of tourist objects: Medieval Hotel, newly-built Congress Hall, County Museum with a Viking epoque exposition, a brand new hotel effort Tott Resort, a tourism- and amusement park Kneippbyn, Zip Clip enterprise etc.
During the official meeting in the Governor’s residence the outputs of the 2008 activities in frame of the project were summed up and the issues of further cooperation for 2009 were discussed.
