Famtrip, Get acquainted tour to the Panorama Dvina Daugava region
The analyse tells us that the region is a white spot in an European perspective.
In order to achieve more cross border contacts and people, projects and thoughts passing the borders the area must create an exciting image. The first parts of the AIDAS principles mentioned at the Polotsk conference must be seriously considered as a point of departure.
A ttention, I nterest, D esire, A ction and S atisfaction.
Within the project you may interpret the goal that this white spot should be developed into a colourful and attractive spot by using the existing urban and rural values. The project clearly indicates that we should use joint history, common heritage and special relations between Belarus Latvia and Sweden and of course in particular relations from Gotland with the Dvina/Daugava river region in this process.
A so called Famtrip, a familiarisation tour, in order to get acquainted to the area will be arranged according to the project plans. The middle of September is a proposition as the area still will offer a smell and feeling of warmth from the summer period.
Participants in the Famtrip will be tour operators, bus companies and representatives from media. Media represented by news agencies, cultural editors and tourism press.
We plan for about 10 media reps and 10 -15 tourism reps.
What do you suggest that the participants should be shown and what people they should meet in order to get information and knowledge of traditions, attractions, heritage, history, folk soul etc. Suggest program points and attractions
You may very well use the wording according to Mr Hofren in Urban values;
- Mainstream attractions
- Hidden gems
Tourism people are the most spoiled in the world. They are getting invitations from everywhere in the world more or less for free because they bring business if they like what they see. The Dvina/Daugava river region has a lot to show. We have a potential!!
How can we jointly find financial interests from those who will profit if the cross border stream increases considerably in the future?? Please put some constructive ideas forward!!
We are in a very competitive environment with offers from other parts of Europe . Only by putting our resources together and work in cooperation we will succeed in creating awareness and attractiveness and interest of this exiting part of Eastern Europe .
Media and tourism reps have a very short time. We have to show a lot during this short time that is available for us. This is a real challenge and there is a need for priorities.
Bring your suggestions forward!!
